Honestly, my whole broom closet used to be full of all sorts of chemicals. Now that I have cats, things are a little different. I want cleaners that won’t poison my pets if they come into contact with them.
That’s why I gathered together my favorite all-natural pet-safe cleaning products for those who don’t have time for the DIY route. You’ll save hours of frustration while maintaining your peace of mind when you buy these pawsome cleaners.
1) Puracy Natural Multi-Surface Cleaner
Puracy Natural All-Purpose Cleaner is completely free of toxic chemicals and harsh ingredients, but it’s also vegan and cruelty-free. It’s safe for animals – and never tested on them! It works on virtually every surface of your home.
2) ECOver Zero Chlorine-Free Bleach
There are some things that only bleach can handle. ECOver Zero Chlorine-Free Bleach is a simple formula comprised of water and hydrogen peroxide. That means no parabens, fragrance, harsh chemicals, or other nasty stuff. For whatever reason, you can only buy it in a 6-pack on Amazon, but at least you’ll be fully stocked.
3) Biokleen Bac-Out Stain & Odor Remover
I spotted this in Pet Age’s latest issue “”What’s New At Global Pet Expo 2017, and I had to check it out. Biokleen Bac-Out has received almost straight five star reviews on Amazon and for good reason. It uses “completely biodegradable to organic” ingredients and is even safe to use on expensive rugs and cloth baby diapers.
4) Green Works Compostable Cleaning Wipes
This product isn’t what I would define as ‘pet-safe’, but it does deserve an honorable mention. Green Works Compostable Cleaning Wipes use a combination of plant-based and vegetable ingredients, as well as wood fibers and essential oils for fragrance.
As the name indicates, they’re compostable, and they make for a great surface cleaner for your kitchen. Don’t worry about your cat licking surfaces you’ve cleaned with them; they have a citrus scent most cats hate.
5) Better Life All-Purpose Cleaner (replaced Pawganics)
Better Life’s all-purpose surface cleaner has it all. You can use it on just about any surface in your home, the bottle is fully recyclable, and it’s completely pet-safe and cruelty-free (certified by Leaping Bunny). Four scents are available, including an unscented option.
6) Better Life Natural Floor Cleaner (replaced Bean & Lily)
As heartbroken as we are that Bean & Lily is currently unavailable, we found a great replacement option that smells great and is even more affordable. These are some great ideas! Choosing a good cleaning product to use around pets is always a challenge. I’m going to have to try those wipes. We like to use cleaning wipes around here. 🙂
Pets react to chemicals just like we do and the problem is often aggravated because it is practically impossible to train pets to keep a safe distance from harmful cleaners, especially from floor cleaners

Hi! Thanks for your question. I don’t consider these to be pet-safe because of the essential oils. The ingredients list doesn’t list which essential oils they use, and some are toxic to pets (although I doubt there would be enough residue left from the wipe for them to lick up/ingest). Since I don’t know exactly which oils are in them, I can’t say 100% that they are pet-safe, and so I chose not to list them as such. Hope this helps!
