Two Rescue Cats With Spunky Personalities Take Instagram By Storm
Welcome to our Friday Frisky Feline Feature! Today, you’ll get to meet darling Izzy and Willow.
Well, if these two aren’t the cutest pair you’ve ever seen. Izzy, the older and wiser of the two, was once an only cat, free to roam and soak up the entirety of meowmy and daddy’s attention. Then along came Willow. It’s been such fun to see what these two get up to on a daily basis via their Instagram feed, but we wanted to get the full story.
Izzy and Willow’s mom and dad have generously agreed to let us feature them on our site, so let’s see what they have to say about their precious fur babies.
How did you meet Izzy?
“Izzy is six years old, and she was rescued from an outside cat that we had been feeding for years. She was the runt of her litter and had three siblings. Two of the three were rescued by my parents. We would like to think the third was rescued by our neighbors but sadly we can’t confirm this..
For an adult cat, Izzy’s temperament is still very much like a kitten! She’s the type of cat that you have to be careful with your moving your hands and fingers around because she immediately thinks it’s playtime! She has a little cat nip mouse that’s by far her favorite toy! She also has a furry boa type toy that she loves to play with!
She’s not super friendly around strangers, but she is quite curious as all cats usually tend to be. She hates belly rubs but loves to cuddle. She also loves to be buried beneath the covers!”
Izzy sounds like one sweet little kitty! Her beautiful stripes and gorgeous green eyes have stolen our hearts. Plant a kiss on those adorable jelly bean paws for us!
How did Willow come into the picture?
“Willow is about four and a half months old, and she is quite the character! Willow was rescued from the backyard of my in-laws’ coworker’s house. As far as we know, she has two siblings. One of the siblings was also rescued by my in-laws. The second was rescued by another family.
As previously mentioned, if Willow was a dog, she would be the alpha male. She is fearless, rambunctious, hyper, and sweet when she’s calmed down from her crazy adventures. She is not shy at all and doesn’t mind strangers. She has an obsession with all things paper. Toilet paper, paper towels, anything she can rip up and destroy! She loves crinkly toys and chasing around pole-type toys.”
Do Izzy and Willow get along?
“After introducing them to each other, they have gotten a lot better, but they still aren’t fully bonded. They do play together, but Izzy still gets irritated with Willow’s excessive shenanigans!
Willow’s not very vocal like Izzy, and she only randomly meows at the strangest times. Izzy has the begging for treats meow down!”
As for their names, cat dad and photographer Jason says:
“To be honest, my wife came up with the name Izzy. She tells me it’s from a character from the show Grey’s Anatomy.
I came up with the name Willow. Willow, by definition, means ‘slender and graceful’. She’s not really graceful, but the name fit her personality.”
Grace aside, these two frisky felines have given mom and dad a ton of joy with their precious little faces and winning personalities. They’ve won the hearts and minds of Instagram, as well, and they now have over 9,600 followers!
